last month a earth like planet has been found orbiting a red dwarf called Gliese 581, this system is only 20 light years away and has 3 other planets orbiting this red dwarf. it is said to lie in the “Goldilocks zone” witch is a zone in the solar system were the conditions are not too hot or too cold for liquid water to form,this planet has a mass of three to four times that of Earth and takes 37 days to orbit the star. Astronomers believe it is a rocky planet with enough gravity to retain an atmosphere, now for me this is very exciting news as astronomers keep studying this planet if it has the right chemicals in its atmosphere there is a chance it could harbour life.
But the question if it does harbour life what would they look like small, microscopic? or would they be alien animals romaing around its surface lets just hope that if it can sustain life we would be able to visit it someday .
